Outline Itinerary:

Day 01    MEDAN – BOHOROK/BUKIT LAWANG (-/L/D)
Upon arrival at the airport, greet and proceed for Medan City tour; the capital of the province, a commercial city visiting to the Great Mosque, Sultan’s Palace, which belonged to the royal families of the Malay Tribe, Chinese Temple, the market place and the crocodile farm with more than 1000 crocodiles. After lunch, the roads leads west through vast rubber and oil palm plantation to Bukit Lawang; the orang utan rehabilitation center, which was established in 1973 with en-route stop at rubber and oil palm plantation. Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, crossing the river on a hanging cable plank bridge to the hotel for accommodation and dinner

Day 02    BUKIT LAWANG/BOHOROK – MEDAN/AIRPORT (B/-/-)
After an early breakfast, a rocky path leads to a bend in the river crossing by a cable and pulley driven dug out canoe to reach the station of Orangutan rehabilitation center. A quite steep trail through the forest leads to a feeding flat form where the orangutans are fed their twice daily ration of bananas and milk. Watch the orangutan at the feeding site. Return to the hotel for a brief respite. At the appropriate time, drive on the same road back to Medan. Upon arrival in Medan, transfer to the airport to catch the flight of onward destination

Note:
WHAT TO BRING FOR VISITING FEEDING FLATFORM OF ORANG UTAN & JUNGLE TREKKING (take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints):

  • Camera, extra film and binoculars
  • Light clothes (including long trousers & long sleeved shirt), comfortable sturdy walking shoes, leach socks and rain poncho
  • Any personal medications which are taking regularly, such as chloroquin,  prescription drugs, etc.
  • Insect repellent for those who are particularly sensitive to bug bites
  • An unbreakable water bottle.
  • A photocopy of your passport.
  • The departure should be later than 14.00.

Inclusion:
  • Nightly accommodation is based on twin sharing with daily breakfast
  • At Bukit Lawang: Rindu Alam Hotel (non starred hotel) or Bukit Lawang Cottage (non starred hotel)
  • Transfer and sightseeing tour by ac–private vehicle with Foreign speaking guide, assistance & luggage handling at the airport
  • Specified meals with Indonesian menu + mineral/plain water
  • Any available admission/entrance fees to sites of interest stated and others as disclosed in the tour program.
