MOUNTAIN TOUR OF BERASTAGI (ex Medan)

Outline itinerary:

Greet at the hotel. Paxs start leaving to drive on the forested foothills of Bukit Barisan where S-turns provides panoramic view up to the delightfully and picturesque town of Berastagi in Karo High Land through the Nature Reserved of Sibolangit, which lies on an escarpment overlooking
the lowlands. Note: Karo land - the homeland of the Karo Batak people is an exceptionally fertile plateau set in the midst of the volcanic Bukit Barisan highlands south of Medan. Its northern edge rises sharply from densely forested foothills some 50 to 60 km from the coast, while the southern edge just touches the shores of beautiful Lake Toba. With an area of 5,000 sq km, the plateau is like a gigantic bowl surrounded on all sides by jagged mountain peaks looking almost as if it has been scooped right out of them. Paxs will firstly drive to Sibolangit for a brief respite.

Proceed to driving to Lau Debuk Debuk. It’s a hot sulphur spring to enjoy a well earned soak in the steaming sulphur laden water.
Note: Please bring your own towel

Proceed to driving to Peceren Village. It’s one of the traditional villages where we are going
to see a glimpse of the way of life of the Karo Batak Tribe and their typical houses with open
floor plan in which eight related families live together under a single upswept or rectangular roof
of ijuk thatch interspersed with more modern ones.

Driving to fruit market, It’s a large market selling wonderfully fresh fruits, flowers and vegetables
