TRIP TO LAKE TOBA (L) ex Medan

Outline itinerary

07.00   
Greet at the hotel. Sightseeing transfer to Simalungun area; a highland, which is today a key plantation region passing through the enormous government-owned estate of oil palm, rubber
and cocoa. Stop en-route will be at the estates of oil palm, rubber and cocoa, and Pematang Siantar. Note: The highway east of Medan is fast passing through endless groves of rubber trees and oil palms.

07.00 - 08.45   
Paxs will drive on the main road to Tebing Tinggi. It’s one of the large towns, passing through
the enormous government owned estates of oil palm, cacao and rubber. Stop en-route at the estate.

08.45 - 09.30   
Stop at the estates (oil palm, cacao and rubber), which are on the road side.

09.30 - 10.30
Proceed driving to Pematang Siantar. It’s North Sumatera's second largest city, is the
administrative and commercial hub of the Simalungun plantation area for a brief respite

10.30 - 10.45
In Pematang Siantar

10.45 - 11.30
Proceed driving to Parapat. The road ascends steadily through palm plantation and a vast patch quilt of irrigated sawah to a refreshingly cool town at night & tolerably warm town during the day called Parapat; a small rocky peninsula jutting into the Toba Lake as the gateway to track down
the vestiges of traditional Toba culture and to acquaint the colorful but notoriously forthright & aggressive Batak people inhabit a cluster of spectacularly beautiful & fertile volcanic basin at
the northern end of Bukit Barisan range.

11.30 - 12.45
Having lunch at restaurant in Parapat.

12.45 - 13.30
Cruising on Lake Toba. Inland vist Tomok Village. It cruises to the central isle of Samosir where colorful Toba Batak villages cling to the shore. Inland, walking on the road lined with souvenir shops up to a site to visit one of the Island’s most famous sights – the 200 years old boat shaped sarcophagus of King Sidabutar surrounded by those of his descendents.

In the village

Cruising on Lake Toba back to Parapat

Driving on the same road back to Medan.

Arrive at hotel in the city of Medan.
